Ukulele Workshop & Concert with Mark Baker
June 7, 2018, 6-8PM @ Shreveport Music
Ukulele Gumbo along with Shreveport Music Company will host a Ukulele Workshop on June 7, 2018 from 6-8PM at Shreveport Music, 115 Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA.
Would you like to learn simple harmonies as played on two or three strings and how it applies to add color to a song? Our example will be the classic Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl. Learn how important it is to listen to each other as we’re playing as an ensemble. We will use Spanish Harlem as our song. Interested in simple fingerpicking? A simple Arpeggio using the C Maj chord progression “C Am F G7” will be taught by Mark. There will be a 90-minute workshop and a 30-minute Concert.
Due to space limitations the workshop will be limited to the first 40 to register. A waiting list will be maintained.
Cost for the workshop & concert will be $35 each. You may print a registration form here. You may also pick up a registration form at Shreveport Music Company. An email will be sent to each registrant confirming receipt. This email will serve as your ticket.

A Little About Mark
Mark Baker describes himself as "a singer/songwriter and Ukulele Slinger extraordinaire". Members of Ukulele Gumbo met Mark at a workshop in Dallas in the summer of 2015. Being so impressed with his voice, playing and teaching skills, nothing would do, but to issue an invitation to him to visit Shreveport, LA. And he accepted!
In October of 2016, Mark traveled to Shreveport and presented a wonderful workshop and concert. We are so lucky to have him coming to Shreveport again!
Mark has been performing in one way or another since he was very young. His voice, playing and infectious personality will draw you in and have you singing and strumming in no time!
